I know, it's not fair for North Europeans or North Americans.
But over the past couple of weeks, we've been enjoying a crazy hazy lovely weather, coupled with a bright sun in Athens.
It has elevated everybody's spirit, especially amidst the recession doom and gloom that Greeks have been living-in during the past 6 years.
Winter is definitely on the way, we have no illusions over that.
However, in the meantime, we will enjoy the lovely sun and the 20-24 oC temperature, while it lasts.
Winters are not harsh in Athens. Yes, there's cold, yes there's some humidity, but all n all things are under control.
The drop in households' available income has resulted in cuts in heating expenses. There are many families that cannot afford to pay for petrol, relying on electrical heat sources which tend to soar-up the electricity bill in no time.
The past good weather spell was much needed in Athens. It is a good way to prepare for the coming cold months, and the ensuing drop in spirits and enthusiasm.
We'll live through it, in a typical greek manner: lots of complaining, but in the end we have our families, our friends, and our loved ones to rely on.
