My home place in the island of Rhodes is right on the sea shore. There’s a beautiful and vast piece of sand and sea which spans the horizon as far as the eye can see, utterly un-spoilt from commercialization.
The sun rises every morning from the sea bed in a breathtaking manner. In the morning, I love to spend some time walking on the beach, which fills me with much needed optimism. I take a cup of coffee with me, and when I return home I’m ready to tackle the day.
Later on, a refreshing swim is in order, together with an option for a bicycle ride to the Golf course. It’s now time for cooking and dining. A quick nap under the huge berry tree will finish off the afternoon. Later on, a game of backgammon and a cool beer will take me towards the evening.
There’s always time for a quick swim just before the daylight vanishes. At night, the small traditional tavern up the street will offer excellent delis and an opportunity for refreshing chit-chat with friends and family.
Ahhh… have no doubt, this place is as close to “Paradise on Earth” as it gets.
